If the applicant organization runs multiple programs -(i.e has both a a housing department and a youth workforce development department) can we apply for both initiatives? and is it considered a collaborative project or discrete?
Joelle Nims Bay Cove s/her/s
57:16
Can we apply for a discretionary grant and a grant through this RFP at the same time?
Sarah Coldwell
57:37
Will the "traditional" grant initiatives, such as Education, be available this year again, in addition to the Housing/Workforce RFP you are discussing today?
Christopher Wiggins, Liberty Mutual Fdn
57:45
yep - I agree!
Christopher Wiggins, Liberty Mutual Fdn
59:36
Thanks all for the questions - we are keeping track! Many of them will be answered over the next few slides and if not, we will answer at the end.
Kalina Philalom, Liberty Mutual Foundation
01:01:40
Hi, Joelle! The quick answer is no. Typical rule of thumb is 1 grant / org / cycle - across all initiatives.
Joelle Nims Bay Cove s/her/s
01:02:02
Thank you!
AllenBrown
01:02:47
Can you provide some guidance or recommendations for collecting and reporting participant income in a way that meets requirements for low income? Perhaps this question is already addressed in an upcoming slide.
Bridgit Brown
01:03:05
How far along can you be in your plan to apply for a planning grant?
Dana Lyford (she/they)
01:06:15
so just to be clear - if we are a part of the youth homelessness cohort of grantees - will we be seeing another RFP for that opportunity and thus, we should not apply for this?
Dr. Gabeau
01:07:03
Is there a funding limit/range?
Allison Bayer
01:07:05
Does a collaborative partner have to be a 501c3?
Michael Boswell
01:07:35
With regards to collaborative efforts, could you share the depth of partnership(s) you see as being strongest?
Dana Lyford (she/they)
01:08:23
Gotcha really helpful - thank you Bryan.
Christopher Wiggins, Liberty Mutual Fdn
01:09:48
Hi Dana you are correct; if an organization just received an award through the 2022-23 Basic Services Initiative, they would not be eligible to apply through this current RFP.
Allison Bayer
01:10:38
Would LM accept metrics that demonstrate readiness to serve individuals in teh Housing Stability grant? We anticipate beginning actual service delivery to low income residents but not until the end of the grant period (as of Sept/Oct 2023).
Kalina Philalom, Liberty Mutual Foundation
01:11:46
Hi, Dr. Gabeau! For the planning grants, we're looking at $25k - $75k. For single org implementation grants, $100k. For collab org implementation grants, $200k.
Dr. Gabeau
01:12:32
Great! Thanks so much
AllenBrown
01:12:35
We are an official partner with Boston Public Schools and the Mass Rehab Commission. Will those partnerships qualify us to apply for a collaborative grant valued at up to $200K?
Catherine Mageau
01:12:51
Is the discretionary grant funding still on a rolling basis this year and next year? Also, is there a max. request amount for the discretionary grants?
Kalina Philalom, Liberty Mutual Foundation
01:15:19
Hi, Catherine! Yes, discretionary is still rolling this year and next. No max request amount; our average grant is around $45k. First time partners typically start around $25-30k, but it all depends on the proposal!
Genevieve Cubbison
01:15:36
Good afternoon to you, LMF Team and All! Genevieve Cubbison from Boys & Girls Clubs of Dorchester here. We offer a robust Teen College & Career Prep program that enables young people to make meaningful steps toward their post-secondary futures. Should we be discussing our college prep activities, or just career prep?
Allison Bayer
01:18:44
DO all funds need to be fully expended by the end of the grant year (by end of October 2023?)
Deb Beatty Mel - Boston Bldg Resources
01:19:10
Hi, this is Deb from Boston Building Resources. I would like to apply for funding for our Reuse Center program, which supports housing stability through affordable home repairs. Would a proposal be stronger if we broke down specific initiatives to grow the Reuse Center, or would a general request for overall Reuse Center funding be considered?
Kalina Philalom, Liberty Mutual Foundation
01:20:48
What a world we live in now!
